SMM : What’s different about New Orleans Music then the rest of hip-hop music?
DEEDAY : My music speaks from a place that everyone can relate , most artist only make a certain type of music that can only touch one market, me being half Hispanic and white and growin up in and out the hood I'm able to speak from all sides because I seen all parts basically Saying my songs have universal concepts.
SMM : How was your experience touring with some of the dope names in hip-hop like Kevin Gates, Juicy J, and MGK? What was that like for you?
DEEDAY : It was dope, 1000's of people every night being able to really see the side of rap that every artist dreams about was a huge blessing for me , also helped build my confidence up on stage and shaped my performance all together.
SMM : What have you learned from the music industry so far?
DEEDAY : I learn that it's all about your plan , your grind, and staying ahead of everyone is key, also I learned that 98% of the people you meet in the industry are just selling dreams so you have to pick the people you work with wisely .
SMM : Tell us the mind set behind your music video “She Made Me”. Do any of your songs have any special meanings to you?
DEEDAY : The concept behind the video is showing how a woman or a situation with a woman and change and have a positive influence on a man in all manners, all my songs have special meanings to them it's my daily life I talk about.
SMM : How did you come up with name DEEDAY?
DEEDAY : My name used to be Lil Dee Gods Gift I dropped a mixtape with Dj Don Cannon and it was called "DeeDay" I printed up 20,000 copies and passed them out along the southern region and the title on the mixtape was so big that everybody just started calling me DeeDay that didn't know my name already, it was a needed change for me and defiantly happen for a reason
.SMM : How did it feel to be nominated for the best song at Nola Music Awards 2015?
DEEDAY : It was a good feeling I've been nominated every year for the awards .
SMM : So what’s new album is called? How many tracks are on the new album..
DEEDAY : The new album is titled "72 Dreams" there will b 15 tracks on it.
SMM : Any new tours coming up for DEEDAY?
DEEDAY : Yeah I'll be setting up a #72DreamsTour real soon.
SMM :Who got you involved in music?
DEEDAY : I got involved with music by being n school at first then it carried on to me being in the studio around random artist who do music,
