SMM : Who is Magali outside of music .

Magalidelarosa - Outside of music I am a very hardworking mother and business woman. Aside from music I run a clothing line called RagzbyMagz. For the most part I work out of my home and I also take care of my 2 year old daughter. In what ever space I am in, art is always involved in my day to day activities. In fact I would say that even in my other roles MUSIC is still always at the core.

SMM : What do you think R&B is missing now.

Magalidelarosa - I would have to say that R&B today needs technology turned down and the soul turned up. I I hear so many songs on the radio that really have no meaning. Its great to have that fun party song, but can that same artist turn out a sensitive ballad? What message are we sending our youth if we don't value what we put out. I loved R&B when my favorite singer was singing a nice clean song all the while looking beautiful with a hint of sexy. I recently had songs sent to me which I was appreciative of, however I thought that some of the lyrics were derogatory. Its just something that for me is not my style. I made mistakes early on in my career with music choices. Now as I am a little wiser I know that sticking to who you are makes for better results. It may take longer, but in the end it will be you.

SMM : What do you hope to express though your music?

Magalidelarosa : I always hope to express love. Its the universal language. I think with so much negativity in the world we need good music and good messages to get us through. My songs are mostly about love gained or lost between a couple, but the message behind the actual song for me is so much deeper. I write and sing music because I love it and its a bonus if any of my songs can touch someone. I also feel that I have been through so many ups and downs with this business, but I am still here pushing forward. I want to send that message to everyone to never give up on yourself.

SMM : Who are some of your musical influences?

Magalidelarosa : My musical influences started in my home. My father is a musician and songwriter so I always had that in my childhood. My life changed when certain events in music happened. The first time I saw "The Bodyguard", The first time I heard Lauryen Hill sing, when my parents bought me the "Thriller
