SMM : So what is next for V.Ne$$ with your music career?

V-NE$$ : I’m focusing on releasing my EP entitled "My B.A.D" which means My Bars Ain't Dead. The next main objective is distribution.

SMM : How do you stay grounded with your jamaican roots while doing hip-hop music?

V-NE$$ : Being from the West Indies grounds me in itself. My culture and upbringing have humbled me to the point where I have no choice but to remain grounded.

SMM : We see you have opened up for major artists like Lil Kim, how did that come about?

V_NE$$ : I actually received that opportunity through a friend of mine and I must say that to date, it had been one of the most meaningful performances of my career.

SMM : Who is V.Ne$$ outside of music?

V-Ne$$ is everything she is in music and so much more. I'm a mother..A daughter.. A sister.. I'm your not so regular human being who believes in morals, family values as well as consistency.

SMM : How were you able to get on Coast2Coast's mixtape?

V-Ne$$ : That was all due to the hard work of my team; Grind Hard And Kenneth Brown.

SMM : Being a female artist, what advice would you give other female artist coming up in the industry?

V-NE$$ : My advice would be to #BeYourself... Never step out of who you are or question who you are to appease others. In the end, it's who you truly are that makes one get respect.

SMM :How did you decide on the name V.Ne$$?

I wanted to keep it as genuine and as true to myself as possible. My first name is Vanessa and most people call me V. The Ne$$ stands for my grind and my GreatNess.. My Ambitiousness...My every #Ness that makes me who I am.

SMM : How did you develop your sound?

I developed my sound through what has shaped me musically. As much as I challenge myself and I am open minded to trying new things, I never forget what elements make me who I am.

SMM : Where can fans catch you live, any new tours or shows coming up?

I have a show coming up called Independence Day, happening July 9th at Sullys Pub in Hartford, CT. Other than that i get booked for different shows weekly so it's hard to keep up with where I'll be next!

SMM : Anything else you would like to add?

I appreciate everyone and all the good, bad, and uglies that have helped shaped me. This is only the beginning of greatness.
