Stray Thoughts Summer 2020
Ready for a Home
Noir is a big boy with a bigger heart! He has a lot of love to give and is looking for someone
to give it to! Unfortunately, Noir has been diagnosed with PTSD by his behavioral veterinarian
from when a closet fell on his head when he was a young adult. This means when he gets
triggered by a loud noise, or someone leaning over him, he may start to hiss and lash out.
However, there are several therapies to help him continue to manage his PTSD, such as
puzzle toys, regular play time, clicker training, medication, and a consistent environment. All
of which has helped him immensely.
Noir is looking for a place to recover and heal him, could that be your home?
Spot Male | 5 years old | Turkish Van Mix
Hi, I’m Spot! I’m affectionate and a very good-looking guy. I’m curious and enjoy meeting
and checking out new people. I’m also quite playful. My foster mom has nicknamed me
“circus cat” because I sometimes walk on my hind legs while playing with toys. I’m pretty
quiet so you will rarely hear my voice.
I Iike to be petted and will lay at your feet or next to you on the couch. I like to take nice
long naps and don’t need to share a bed with you. I require a quiet household, adults only,
and to be the only pet - then things will be purrrfect!
Wylie Male | 1 year old | Terrier Mix
Hi! Hello! Excuse me! My name is Wylie! I’m super excited to meet you and become your
new best friend! I’m a little fireball of spunky energy, so if you are an active person that
loves to play, oh boy we will get along great! Playing is one of my favorite things and I have
a super high play drive! I will never turn you down for play time! I get so excited that I just
can’t sit still! I always have to be busy, busy, and busy. Treats taste sooooo good, but I am
gentle taking them. I will need to work on my manners, so treats will be a good way to go
about this.
Due to my high play drive, I can get mouthy and jump (overstimulated). This is why if I am
to live with kids, they must be at least six years old. Unfortunately, I find dogs very offputting
and I cannot live with another dog. I think cats look like squirrels, so it is best for everyone if I don’t live with
those shady characters. Don’t worry; I’ll be all the pet you need! I prefer all my companionship from my people and
will keep you plenty busy with all my attention seeking and belly rub requests.
You may have noticed that my back foot is deformed. It doesn’t slow me down at all, but just to be sure, either the
Animal Care Manager or the Executive Director will discuss it with my new family or answer any questions you may
have about it. If you are looking for a fireball of energy, an awesome playmate, and a companion, then I’m your guy!
