Stray Thoughts Winter 2020 Hearty Thanks! Doggie Depot in Downers Grove did a holiday giving tree and asked their customers and employees to bring in donations for the shelter. They donated three car loads of food, supplies a gift card and $167. Doggie Depot Stephany Trombello and Shannon Hormanski of Baird and Warner collected and donated food and supplies. Jewel Osco held a Pet Month program and donated $5,000 of the proceeds to the shelter. The Hope Club at Pierce Downer School had a Fun Fair and donated the proceeds of $255 to the shelter. Stephany & Shannon The Robert McCormick House at Cantigny donated 22 cat and 3 dog blankets. Reagan turned 1 and asked for donations for the shelter instead of gifts for her. She donated $50. Gerber Plumbing Fixtures did a holiday drive for the shelter. They donated food, toys and supplies. Reagan The Ria Family had a lemonade stand and donated the proceeds of $40 to the shelter. Marquardt Middle School Builders Club and Serving Society held a Family Night of Serving. The donated blankets and bandannas to the shelter. Megan Matune of Downers Grove donated $14.50 from her piggy bank to the shelter. The Ria Family Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool in Willowbrook had a holiday donation drive and collected food and supplies for the shelter. Choctaw-Kaul had a holiday donation drive and collected food and supplies for the shelter. Amica Mutual Insurance Company bought in donations in honor of customer service week. Blake Aramburu LaGrange Highlands Leo Club did a fundraiser for the shelter. They donated $577. Blake Aramburu and Alexis Menapace of Downers Grove turned 7. They asked for donations for the shelter instead of gifts for them. They donated food and supplies. Laura Duffecy Salt Creek Club in Hinsdale did an end of the year puppy pool pawty and donated the proceeds of $1,718 to the shelter. Laura Duffecy is a WSHS volunteer and realtor at Coldwell Banker. Her office did a fundraiser for the shelter and collected lots of food and supplies. Henricksen Company did a fundraiser for the shelter. They donated tons of food, supplies and $837. Samantha of Westmont turned 10 and asked for donations for the shelter instead of gifts for her. She donated food, supplies, dog treats and dog toys. 8
