Stray Thoughts Winter 2019
Ready for a Home
Marshall Mathers
Male | 4 years old | Black DSH
Marshall Mathers here, but you can call me Slim or Eminem or any name you want as
long as you call me adopted. I’m a big hunk of cat who likes things on my own terms. You
understand my rules and we will get along just fine. I’ve never been around a dog, but I’m
bigger than some, so I’m not too worried.
I’m fine with other cats if they give me my space when I need it. I have had a couple
buddies here who I liked to wrestle with, but they got adopted so here I sit. I have a big
personality, but once we get home,
I think you will find me well worth it!
Ingrid
Female | 9.5 years old | Grey and White
Ingrid is quite beautiful and very people-oriented! She’s a fantastic companion who will hang
out with you at home, whatever you might be doing. She’s also independent enough to be
fine alone during work hours. She ignores dogs who are used to cats but cats are a no-go for
Ingrid. She will be fine with kids if they don’t try to carry her around. This is not because of
her personality. She’s very tolerant. It’s because before being rescued, Ingrid suffered a back
injury that left her back legs temporarily paralyzed. Her veterinarian thinks she was hit by a
car or had some other blunt force trauma.
Now she is healed, has become stronger over time and we rarely see any sign of weakness in
one back leg any longer. For a long period of time she couldn’t jump or run but she brought
herself back and it was an uphill battle. Ingrid did all this work to heal her body so that she
might find a family to love her and keep her. She is on a special diet for early kidney disease,
but doing great!
Please help this amazing 9 year old girl find a wonderful family to give her all the love she
deserves for the second half of her life!
Emails and Letters from Adopters
Dear WSHS,
Mary Jane (now Nymeria Jane) is adjusting very well to our household! She is an
absolute delight! We fell in love with her very quickly and still feel the same and more!
She loves snuggling with us on the sofa. She is a people pleaser and listens very well.
We are working on stay and lay down, but she has mastered give paw and high five!
We were aware of her anxiety issues and have been working with her on them. She has
met quite a few of our family and friends, and every time she meets a guest, she gets
better and less afraid. She has also met my parents’ dogs twice! Once at her home and
once at theirs. We have a four year old tabby cat named Arya, and Nymeria is great
with her! Attached is photo we’ve taken!
Thank you!
