Ready for a Home
Roxee
Female | 2 years old | Terrier Mix
Hi I’m Roxee. My owners gave me up because they no longer had time for me. I’m a
sweet girl who’s a little on the fearful side. I don’t act fearful but when I’m in an unfamiliar
situation I may bark or growl because that’s the only way I have to show fear. That’s why I
need to live in an adult only home with owners who have previous dog experience. I seem
to warm up to women faster than men, but with enough time, I’ll get there. I’m not used
to household activities or common things like doors opening and closing. I am sweet and
loving, but will need someone to have patience with me and help build my confidence. I
would be fine with cats but am not a fan of other dogs. I’m a great dog that is looking for a
forever home, and I will be a good and faithful companion!
Katie
Female | 9 years old | Pomeranian Mix
Hi, I’m Katie. I’m a Pomeranian mix but everyone thinks that I look like a little fox. I’m a
little shy at first, but once I warm-up to you I’m like Velcro. Because I’m 9 years old, I like
to lie around all day. Unfortunately, because of improper dental care, all my teeth had to
be extracted. But that doesn’t stop me from eating. My foster mom soaks my kibble and
combines it with soft/canned dog food. I would prefer to live with a family that is home all
day. I am content to be an only dog, but I am also compatible with calmer smaller dogs my
size (11-12 pounds). While in foster care, I’ve learned heal, sit, stay, recall commands, and
walk on a leash. When I am told “potty outside,” I run to the door and do my business in the
fenced in yard. I would do best in a home with kids 10 years or older.
Eartha Kitty
Female | 11 years old | Black DSH
Hi, I’m Eartha Kitty. I had six babies and not one of them looks like me! They are all brown
tabbies. Like me, they’re easygoing and affectionate. I like belly rubs and being petted. It’s
a wonder that I’m so nice, considering the mess I was when I arrived here. I had fleas and
a really bad infection in both ears. I was thin, but I gave everything I had to care for my
babies and I did a great job. Now I’m healthier than I’ve ever been and life isn’t a struggle
for me anymore. I do have one lingering sign from my past: my upper lip was cut and it
healed kind of crooked. The vet says it’s not a problem now and won’t be down the road.
She thinks it gives me character!
Mitzie
Female | 15 years old | Calico
Hi, I’m Mitzie! My owner was one of the founders of this shelter. She lived with her sister,
me, and another cat who came later. The ladies would sing to us and brush us every day.
We even got to eat special greens grown just for us. When my owner died, I was brought
to this shelter and eventually found a loving home with another senior lady. I had a great
life with her, but sadly, she has now passed as well. Being back at the shelter again is a far
cry from the life I lived before coming here, but I am trying to make the best of it. I have to
live in a cage because my doctor says I need to lose a few pounds and the cat room is like
a cruise ship – 24 hour buffet! I’m super sweet to the volunteers. At this point in my life,
I’d just like to have a quiet home where I’m the only pet and hopefully, won’t have to be
uprooted again.
