FROM THE C . E . O . / PUBLISHER
“ People want to come sit in an open room with a fireplace and old wood and experience the feeling of history , connection , and comfort . . . That ’ s the type of Vermont magic that only comes when you embrace the authentic history of a place . . . and don ’ t try to erase it or change what makes it so great .”
— Jay Eastman , co-owner , Seesaw ’ s Lodge ( Page 79 )
I couldn ’ t agree with Jay more . And striking that balance , making that magic , and getting it “ just right ” … is truly an art form . It ’ s true if you ’ re planning a wedding ( Page 12 ). It ’ s true if you ’ re creating a beautiful piece of jewelry ( Page 18 ). It ’ s true if you ’ re planning a summer season on stage ( Page 26 ). It ’ s true if you ’ re curating an exhibition ( Page 64 ) It ’ s true if you ’ re creating community ( Page 42 ) And it is most certainly true if you are in the business of hospitality ( Pages 59 and 71 )
It ’ s also what we aim for with every issue of STRATTON Magazine . We aim to capture the “ je ne sais quoi ” that makes our region so special .
