This annual family friendly 5K race starts with a trot through the Village and Stratton ’ s scenic backdrops . Move those tailfeathers early to kick off Thanksgiving with an invigorating run and feel better about grabbing that second slice of pumpkin pie ! The run begins in the courtyard , loops around the resort , and concludes back in the Village . Sign up as a family , with your running buddy , or hang out in the Village and cheer on your favorite runner Thanksgiving morning . The Gobble Gobble Wobble race will happen rain or shine . VT SKI & SNOWBOARD HALL OF FAME INDUCTS SUZANNE “ SUZI ” RUECK
In 1986 , Suzi won the US Open Snowboarding title and took 2nd in the Giant Slalom . She then became part of the Burton Snowboard team , promoting the sport and cementing her legacy . She helped write the first manual on how to teach snowboarding for Professional Ski Instructors of America , integrated the Burton Snowboard program into the Stratton Mountain ski school , and developed the Allegro Snowboard Group at Stratton where kids were coached to compete in the US Open Juniors . She later founded the VT Ski & Snowboard Association that ran a number of races , including the Green Mountain Series , now called the Southern Vermont Series . Her impact on the sport of snowboarding is immeasurable , helping to transform it from a novelty into a major winter sport . Suzi was inducted in the VT Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame on October 14 .
