NOVEMBER 24 , THANKSGIVING DAY Earn your fill of stuffing , gravy , and pumpkin pie by participating in a run to jump start Thanksgiving Day in true Vermont style , complete with turkey-inspired regalia . The Gobble Gobble Wobble 5K at Stratton Mountain brings runners , walkers , and trotters through Stratton Village before crossing the finish line . Light up the season and support the growth and prosperity of Vermont ’ s youth . The Stratton Community Foundation ’ s ( SCF ) annual fundraiser allows participants to sponsor a tree in Stratton Village or Manchester to celebrate their loved ones in the season of giving . As in years past , the trees will sparkle in support of SCF ’ s Education initiatives , making it possible for local teens to go to college or trade school . Scholarships are open to graduating seniors attending high school within the footprint of Southern Vermont and are awarded to students who demonstrate financial need and academic excellence , among other qualifications .
