City The city of Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital, is internationally recognised as a destination of choice and is one of the most inspiring in the world. The birthplace of telephone inventor Alexander Graham Bell and literary great Robert Louis Stevenson, the city sparks creativity and innovation. Since 1999, Edinburgh has been home to the national government, with the Scottish Parliament based at the foot of the city’s historic Royal Mile.
