Strategic Prayer for the Nations
Dear intercessors,
As we come together in prayer, let’ s first focus on a good Word.
“ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God,” John 1:1 – 2 ESV.
This month, we celebrate Christmas— the earthly birth of Jesus— but we also realize Jesus was with God from the beginning. Now, let’ s pray.
Africa
• Please pray for Village Church Planting( VCP) leaders across Africa who have been th
invited to One Mission Society’ s( OMS) 125 anniversary celebration, but must be granted visas to attend. Pray for a smooth application process and swift processing. We look forward to seeing them in person.
• Please pray for the persecution( genocide) in Nigeria, where Christians are being murdered for professing Christ. Pray that God’ s hand will stop the enemy from performing such horrific deeds against his children.
• Pray for VCP students and graduates as they use chronological Bible storytelling( and other OMS training methods) to teach their neighbors about the love of Jesus in Africa. Ask the Holy Spirit to penetrate the hearts of all who hear the stories and identify with the characters, eventually turning their lives over to the Savior.
Asia / Pacific
• Pray for Christmas outreach programs in Japan( and in many other OMS fields) this December. Ask for wisdom for those planning these events and for receptive hearts of those who will be attending. Thank God in advance for the many who will respond with a“ yes” to Jesus.
• Pray for those who have suffered from the effects of Typhoon Ragasa that hit Taiwan. Seventeen people were killed in the small town of Guangfu, and hundreds of homes were damaged when a barrier lake burst due to the heavy rains. May God comfort the grief-stricken and heal the brokenhearted.
• Pray for the puppet ministry in the Philippines and throughout Asia to achieve their goal of handcrafting 5,000 new puppets to be used to communicate the Gospel message in unique ways. Pray for the finances needed to help this ministry flourish and for God to multiply the funds beyond what we could ask or think.
Europe / Middle East
• On December 14, the evangelical churches of Albacete, Spain, will join together to present an open-air Christmas concert. Pray that the concert will impact the city of
