GIVING WITH STYLE This month Ride On St. Louis unveils Giving With Style! What is Giving With Style? We are showcasing an extraordinary therapy horse in training appropriately named Ultimate “Style.” To encourage others to celebrate and share their gifts, like this little therapy horse does, we will be highlighting the care, training process and the ways in which Style gives. During this campaign we ask for your prayers and financial support for the programs Style and his herd mates make possible. Our goal is to raise $10,000 before the end of the year to help cover the cost of horse care and continue serving those in need. During the next few weeks, keep an eye out for special videos and campaign updates: Subscribe to www.youtube.com/c/rideonstlorg1 for special video features of Style, follow us on social media and sign up for our electronic newsletters. Please pledge your gift today and join us as we Give With Style. Your gift is critical and has an immediate impact on those we serve! WHO IS STYLE Ride On St. Louis’ own Ultimate “Style” has been working hard as a therapy horse in training for the past year so that he may give to the clients of ROSL by lending his movement and presence as a therapy horse. With a name like Ultimate Style it’s only fitting that his history begins in Las Vegas. At Aramus Arabian Farms in the heart of Vegas, Style’s father WN Ultimate Star enjoyed the lush life of a stallion stud. The “WN” that precedes Star’s registered name stands for none other than Mr. Las Vegas himself, Wayne Newton. Newton was big into the breeding and training of Arabian horses, including Ultimate Star, the father of ROSL’s Style. 20 years ago Style was born of Wayne Newton’s Ultimate Star and a mare by the name of HiFashion Camaar. Style’s pedigree can be traced all the way back to the pre-civil war era and desert bred Arabians in the year 1800. While we’re uncertain of the first eight years of Style’s life, he spent the next 12 years getting his hooves wet in all manners of things in Leslie, Missouri: Western pleasure competitions, trail riding and “baby-sitting” yearlings. In late fall of 2015, Style’s former owners, Bob and Katherine, donated him to Ride On St. Louis. STYLE’S PHYSICAL CARE 3 It takes a team of people to care for Style. Every day, even on Christmas, our staff and volunteers visit Ride On St. Louis twice a day or more to care for Style. The day starts with hay, grain and a variety of vitamins and dietary supplements to support his digestion, joint and hoof health. Style eats about 25-30 lbs of food each day and forages for about
