The Together Project at The Mix Young people on personal
development course support
The Mix springs
into April with
the launch of our
local community centre
new Together
programme, a
life skills and personal development
programme aimed at 15-24 year
olds with a focus on those not in
employment, education or training.
If you are needing direction, lack a bit of
confi dence, anxiety is holding you back,
or you just need a bit of help getting
motivated and building your resilience
then why not consider joining us?
The programme will be delivered by
our welcoming and friendly youth work
team and starts with 1-2-1 coaching
support to uncover your dreams, goals
and ambitions. This is followed by
a series of workshops covering life
skills, communication, fi nances, and
employability skills all designed to help
you towards your next step.
We start the programme on the 8th April
with our Leadership for Life course. A
life changing journey from hopelessness
to hope, helping you lead your fi nances,
your dreams and your relationships. We
also have a network of local businesses
and organisations supporting the
programme and offering opportunities
such work place visits, work experience,
volunteering and mentoring.

TH E FLYER | A PR IL 2019
A group of local
young people
on a personal
development
course with charity Inspire Suffolk
have been supporting Cedars
Park Community Centre with the
transformation of their garden
area. Over 2 weeks, they have been
fundraising, planning and working to
make their centre’s garden a safe and
engaging place for outside learning for
local children who access it.
The young people are currently taking
part in local charity Inspire Suffolk’s
Prince’s Trust Team programme
for 16-25-year-olds, which over 12
weeks through various elements and
activities aims to build confi dence,
improve skills which can be used for
work and life and support them taking
a positive next step in life in work,
education or training.
The group were approached with the
project idea by Councillor Dave Muller,
Stowmarket Town’s previous Mayor,
who had visited and offi cially opened
previous groups’ community projects
as part of Inspire Suffolk’s courses.
The practical work consisted of digging
out a brand-new path, building a
new sand pit and fi lling in the path
with stones and bark. The centre’s
garden is now a fresh and exciting
area for the children and members
of the community to enjoy the young
people’s hard work.
The team of 12 young people worked
tirelessly and found the project
challenging but very rewarding,
encouraging them to work as a team,
learn skills including leadership
and become more aware of the
communities around them.
