For some people, it is a
more negative image
where he is pulled along
against his will. I see it as
a neutral one, neither
positive, nor negative really
but that is is pulled towards
heaven, hence the title “The
Ascension".

Initially, I had planned to put in a ship
from which he was hanging down and
being dragged along through the “ocean”
of the fields and through the clouds. But
when I edited it, it somehow didn’t look
right. So I thought about what the concept
should be for a while & realised I really
liked the idea
of him being pulled along just by a cloud. It's
interesting how differently people understand
this image though. Some people look at it and
see a young man being pulled along but
enjoying it which works with the brightness of
the sun behind the clouds.
