AF T E R WO R D Instinct Much like it’s instinctive to take your next breath, storytelling is an instinct that has always been a part of your life and will continue to be, long after you are gone. After finishing looking through this book, you will leave taking what you want from it. You have already subconsciously crafted your own story from the content within these pages and it will guide you to the discovery of your next story. Each story that you are exposed to, no matter the magnitude of the subject or its constituents will be embedded into everything you do from that point forward. Stories are infinite. Once you harness their power, you will be able to start living your life for yourself. The more avenues you explore to tell stories, the more you will learn about yourself and the ways in which you communicate. When you are done with this book, I challenge you to pick up a new hobby. Invest in a camera, a notepad, join a running club, a cooking class, call up that friend that you haven’t spoken to in a couple months, however, most importantly – never settle for storytelling tools or avenues that easily fall into your lap. In order to live a conscious and empathetic life you have to seek out stories and when you do, story/telling will become storytelling. 79
