CHAPTER FIVE: ART AND NARRATIVE
A) TIME DISSOLVE
The artist here was born and raised on a First Nations reserve in Ontario, where he expressed an interest in art. Their mixed media style was developed later in life. Paints and inks are mixed with different collaged images to express an abundance of thoughts and feelings within one given space. The image of an important political figure and an important Native leader was to portray the equality in those positions of power.

B) IN TIME
The following art piece was created by an American war veteran. In Time is a critical artwork that analyzes standards of masculinity throughout history. The metallic silver paints are combined with contrasting reds to evoke a sense of anger and frustration with the subject matter. The artist uses photos of himself as a child to bring raw emotion into the piece.

C) TIME IS FLEETING
You are looking at pieces of important evidence. The canvas in this piece has been used as a springboard for the scene of a crime. Images are used here to draw attention to certain aspects of this homicide case that haven’ t been explored as in depth as they maybe could have. This canvas was an expression of pain and suffering for the family and friends of a young child who’ s murderer wasn’ t sentenced properly.
