Indian writing has always had some phenomenal women writers, right from AkkaMahadevi to Kamala Markandeya to Kamala Suraiyya to Pratibha Ray to writers like the inimitable Arundhati Roy, Anita Desai and ShashiDeshpande, to name a few. There are days when I write for eighteen hours and then days when I don’t write at all. I cannot write to a timetable. But I am extremely disciplined about deadlines and deliverables and rarely falter on them. AUGUST 2018
