Alpacas:
Continued from page 23 stock, but you love them like pets.”
“ They are just calming animals with such a good energy to them,” she added.“ They have such a calming effect. These guys are just amazing.”
During the summer, Triple T Alpaca opens the farm to visitors a few times per month for a small vendor fair and farm tours they call Open Farm Days.
One frequent visitor to these events is an elderly woman suffering from dementia.
“ The only time she is completely lucid is when she’ s here,” Turner said about the woman.“ She still asks about some of the babies by name. It’ s amazing how much she can pull from that when she’ s here.”
Triple T Alpaca started its Open Farm Days in an effort to share the love of these animals with people.
“ We just love sharing them and educating people,” Turner said.“ Just having the camaraderie with people who also love them as much as we do, and seeing them with the kids, it’ s great. So, opening up the farm was a no-brainer.”
Triple T Alpaca has two remaining Open Farm Days for the 2025 season, both from 10 a. m. to 3 p. m. The first is on Sunday, Sept. 28, and the second is Saturday, Oct. 25, which will also feature a chili cook-off.
Triple T Alpaca is located at 15414 140th St. in Foreston. To learn more about the farm, visit tripletalpaca. com.
