I’ve had
of how I was living!
Etiandro: My life revolved
around nightclubs and
alcohol. I would get into fights on the
streets and then drink and drive. My
father had no confidence in my future
because how I was living. Instead of
staying at home and studying for exams,
I would go out and that really affected
my studies. This also jeopardised my
relationship with my girlfriend.
Lisandra: Etiandro and I lived in different
countries, so I had no idea what he was
up to. Whenever I went to see him, we
would argue because I didn’t know
whom he was associating with. When I
found the UCKG, I invited Etiandro to go
with me.
Etiandro: I began to give myself a chance
to change. I’d had enough of how I was
living. I was a student at the time, but my
mind was set on having a specific car.
I had always thought that I didn’t have
faith, but it soon began to surface. This
boosted my belief and I became more
involved in the church; I would attend
more services throughout the week.
Lisandra: We got married and this action
of faith brought definition and security
to our love life. This brought us closer
and allowed us to be successful in
all areas of our lives.
Etiandro: The more we attended the
church, the firmer our faith became. I had
no car and no house. I was unsatisfied
with my situation. If God had honoured
my faith before, He would do so again.
He opened the doors in our financial
lives, enabling us to buy our own car.
I fixed my focus on God and was soon
baptised with the Holy Spirit. My faith
is what empowered me to achieve the
greatest spiritual blessing of all, and
prosper in my family. Yet despite that, my
financial life was not the way I wanted it
to be, so I decided to make the greatest
vow I had done until then. A year later,
we were able to buy a supermarket, and
this has allowed us to live in the best
conditions.
My spiritual life is above every other
blessing that I have. I have peace within
me, which is something that I didn’t have
before. I now serve God as an assistant;
I am a fulfilled man because of the Holy
Spirit.
