Develop warning signs

Time out

Explain to your students that they can use warning signs as a way to help them. If they are feeling angry they may notice they're breathing harder, clenched fists, and heart pounding. When this happens they need to act on it and tke a time out or talk to the teacher!

When the students feel they are becoming upset, they should take 3 deep/slow breaths from their stomach. They should then count to 10 after. Repeat this as many times as needed!

Period of de-escalation for the child to cool down and come back with a positive attitude! They should go to a safe and quiet place within the classroom
