ECCLESHALL SHOW
All the
sixes...
Better show
than ever
before for
66th year
F
ine weather and the promise of plenty of
entertainment brought the crowds out in
their thousands for the 66th Annual
Eccleshall Show on Saturday 31st August.
Centre of attention in the main ring were
two performances by the West Lancs Dog
Display Team and the ever popular Dave Coe
returning to the show for the 11th year with his
Springer Spaniel gun dogs. Childrens sports, a
pet dog agility competition, a demonstration
from the junior members of Eccleshall Rugby
Club and a tug of war competition made for a
packed day of entertainment.
Elsewhere on the showground some 200
Classic cars were on show with their proud
owners on hand to discuss their finer points.
The Equestrian classes in three rings were busy
all day from very early in the morning.
The huge craft and horticulture marquee
hosted over 100 classes and the judges were
very impressed with the quality of exhibits
throughout. Hazel Bradshaw, secretary of the
Horticulture and Craft section told Stone and
Eccleshall Life: “We had a very good number
of entries and were particularly pleased to have
entries from our local allotment growers. The
children’s classes were well supported but we
would like to see more children getting
involved next year.”
