KATHARINE HOUSE HOSPICE
Katharine House bids a fond farewell to Joan
K
atharine House Hospice
said a fond farewell to Joan
Lawton, manager of its
popular Stone High street
shop at the beginning of
September.
Joan retired after over eight
years with the Hospice – during
which time she has turned many
local customers into friends and
has helped to put the shop on
the map in Stone.
Joan came from a boutique
background and brought a
touch of style to the shop which
has regularly won the best
dressed shop window in the
past. The shop also has a
customer comments book in
which it says ‘you would never
think it was a charity shop’, ‘I
can’t believe the designer labels
on display’, ‘my favourite shop’
and
most
importantly
“wonderful and friendly staff’
32 October/November 2013
feature greatly.
The shop reins have now
been left in the capable hands of
new Manager Sandra Wood who
herself has been with the
Hospice retail team for many
years.
Kate Sharp, Retail Director
said: “We would like to thank
Joan for her wonderful service to
the Hospice. Her lovely
personality and professionalism
has helped to make the shop
such a success, she will be
missed. We would like to wish
Joan all the very best for her
well-deserved retirement.”
