GRANVILLES
This saw the final piece of the jigsaw
slotting into place, Adam and Mandy
purchased the painters and decorators and dry
cleaners next door in the early 1990s.
The live music element of Granvilles came next
when at a dinner party one evening a friend
suggested the pair should get a famous musician
to play at the opening of the ‘Music Bar’, so Adam
managed to secure the late, great, Jazz legend
George Melly to come and perform, this helped
launch Granvilles into not only a restaurant, but a
music venue too.
Adam added: “It was clear after that night that
the place really leant itself to live music.” And so a
new chapter in its history began.
“It just seemed to hit the right note in Stone so
to speak, and we have had such great support from
locals and people visiting the town.”
When asked about what Adam felt was his
recipe for success he just simply put it down to his
investment in quality.
“We have a good reputation as a restaurant as
we always go for quality and believe in using the
best ingredients we can, from the wine list to
freshly sourced produce, basically everything we
buy. Also perhaps most importantly we have been
extremely lucky to have some superb members of
staff.”
For now however, after 30 years in the business
®
there is little wonder Granvilles Brasserie has
earned the crown as one of Staffordshire’s best
known restaurant and music venues, and with
more plans in the pipeline for 2014, it looks set
to hold on to that title for a long time to come.
