REMEMBRANCE DAY
At the going down of the sun and in
the morning, we will remember them
R
emembrance Day, the 11th hour of the
eleventh day of the 11th month, usually
commemorated on Remembrance Sunday,
the closest day to the 11th, fell on Sunday 10th
this year.
Poignant services and the tradition of observing
a two minutes silence took place all over the
country in order to pay tribute to all those who have
lost their lives in conflict both past and present.
Locally, the Remembrance services took place
in Eccleshall on Sunday 10th November at the Holy
Trinity Church and a moving Remembrance Day
service was also held in Stone’s in Granville Square
at the war memorial where hundreds of people
turned out to pay their respects to the fallen who
have died serving their country.
