FULFEST

Fun filled

‘ Fulfest’

Fulford Village Green rang out to the sounds of the Bill Bailey Jazz Band and Staffordshire Moorlands Youth Jazz Orchestra to name but a few as the village hosted its annual Fulfest celebration recently.

Held on Saturday, 13th July, the village welcomed hundreds of people to its now annual‘ Fulfest’ event which is stated as a Best Kept Village initiative.
Residents and visitors alike enjoyed the afternoon’ s entertainment held on the village green, along with a hog roast barbecue, tea and cakes and real ale provided by the Shoulder of Mutton which supported the festival, as all areas of the community come together in a truely British celebration.
Throughout the day audiences enjoyed musical offerings by the Children’ s Choir, Reeds Aloud, Steve and John, Fulford Community Choir returned after a successful first year to show off its fantastic progress, Calvert Lawson, friends and Jembe provided something a little different to the beat of some drums while Moorlands Brass Band kicked off the start of the evening programme.
As the sun started to lower the festivities didn’ t quell as Daisy Jaks a four piece female band took to the stage followed by SMYJO who were the very first performance at Fulfest five years ago.
Then at 8pm, Bill Bailey’ s Jazz Men played a range of music to finish off the perfect summer evening.
Late night music then continued in the Shoulder of Mutton with Steve Ayres followed by Cry Baby and the Hoochy Coochy Boys.
Organisers were thrilled with the success of the event once again and thanked all who attended and supported this year’ s Fulfest.
