he clocks have gone forward heralding that wonderful time of year when
the nights begin to get lighter and we start to gear up for some long
awaited warmer days.
Organisers of Staffordshire’s forthcoming County Show will certainly be
hoping the sun will be shining on them when the popular two day event is
staged at the County Showground in Stafford on Wednesday and Thursday
28th and 29th May. Check out our special six page County Show feature in
this issue which has everything you need to know about the county’s biggest
celebration of town and country life as they culminate.
Also in this April/May edition we take a look at local author Jeff Kent
who at 62 years young has completed the remarkable feat of climbing all of
Staffordshire’s 65 1000-foot peaks and very kindly documented it all down
in a book ideal for any keen walkers and hikers out there. We have also
teamed up with the organisers of the internationally renowned Chatsworth
Horse Trials to offer readers the chance to win a pair of tickets to the event.
We also caught up with how plans for this year’s Eccleshall Festival are
coming along with plenty of fresh new elements to proceedings which will
definitely appeal to those with a flare for art as well as many of the old
favourites such as the Festival Street Market and Eccy Factor making
welcome returns to the programme.
Of course we have all of our usual contributors and features for you to
enjoy with tips and advice on everything from home improvements this
spring, tasty seasonal recipes, to
where is best to invest your cash.
Best wishes for Easter and happy
reading.
