STONE SCOOTER CLUB Scooter Club goes from strength to strength aving weathered its first winter season, Stone Scooter Club (SSC) seems to be heading in the right direction as far as membership goes with a steady increase seeing the new club continue to grow from strength to strength. Over the last 15 or more years the ‘Mod’ scooter cult of the 1960’s and 70’s has had a real resurgence, growing immensely all over the UK and Europe triggering the formation of many new scooter clubs, one of them being Stone’s very own Scooter Club last October. The Lambretta Club Great Britain and The Vespa Club Great Britain along with over 200 regional scooter clubs put on rallies throughout the year covering the length and breadth of the UK with tens of thousands of scooter enthusiasts out there who adore their timeless classic machines and enjoy the club culture and social life of the H 12 April/May 2014 scooter scene. Due to the popularity of the scooter scene locally a group of like minded scooter enthusiasts decided to get Scooter Club in Stone off the ground for people in the town and the surrounding areas. Now looking ahead to the lighter and warmer nights SSC meet on a weekly basis on a Wednesday night at the Lamb Inn in Walton, Stone at 8pm where members enjoy an evening run out. Speaking to Stone and Eccleshall Life one of the founders of the club, Len Hamilton said: “All classes of scooter are welcome, so get that machine out and enjoy the benefits and fun of your local scooter club.” Anyone interested in joining or finding out more about the club can visit the facebook page at www.facebook.com/StoneScooterClub or contact Len on Tel. 07702 874241.
