Never See?

123 Highway Road, City

I may never see

our wild horses gazing back at me.

From on the range which is their home

free to live, play, graze and roam.

I may never see

a herd moving gracefully.

With mares, foals, and a stallion too

their beauty in the landscape delightful to view.

I may never see

brave mares leading bands to safety.

Showing strong bonds and fierce loyalty

evident to those with a heart and eyes to see.

I may never see

stallions as valiant warriors when they need to be.

Following their bands from behind

Always alert to dangers they may find.

I may never see

our wild horses that are too far from me.

Those rounded up from the range where they were born

trucked to holding pens from their families torn.

I HOPE that I may never see

our land void of wild horses no longer free.

Where political power and greed got their way

because you and I had nothing to say.

Get involved. Get Educated. Get active. Get loud. Remember to vote at midterms.
