Back Roads

I have visited the back roads of our West my entire life. Inhaling our mountain and desert and coastal air, appreciating our wildlife and the magnificence of our public lands and waters, this has all been part of my life. I’ve always tried to make people aware of what lies beyond city lights, what beauty our open lands hold, what peace and remarkable things can be found there. My travels over the last year have shown me a rapidly changing landscape. My foremost concerns, the wild horses of our country, are in imminent danger.

During this year alone, I’ve traveled extensively through 12 western states. The changes are everywhere. The wild horses we love are under attack by people who say they are protecting them, people who say they are managing them, by people who are doing no such thing. Those responsible for our wild horses and lands are systematically destroying them by mismanagement. It’s an ugly truth.
