from a point in time like this , real change can evolve as it has created the possibility of the coming together of all interested parties as a united front on the sediment issue . As this funding project has ceased , the crucial element is we acknowledge where we have paused , and to take this and expand and grow on our learnings into the future .

Two video case studies were produced , exploring changes implemented on two properties , through involvement with the project and other NQ Dry Tropics programs . The case studies reiterate some of the social , economic and environmental outcomes from the project .
Glenalpine ’ s Leanne O ’ Sullivan noted that the Stomping out Sediment project has incorporated a lot of 1-on-1 consulting opportunities for project graziers “ and it may be only once a year that you have that , but it ’ s the game-changer for moving forward in our industry ”.
By gaining new perspectives , long-term landscape health now guides all decision making at Glenalpine . As a result , vegetation , soil health and water-use efficiency have all improved , leading to increased carrying capacity and productivity . The landscape is more resilient and the O ’ Sullivans are well-equipped with the tools to help them manage the impacts of drought .
At Strathalbyn , access to technical expertise , knowledge and information is a key contributor to success . Bristow Hughes commented that through NQ Dry Tropics and all of the extension that they do , and monitoring as well , you get a lot of feedback on decisions that you ’ ve made .
