balance, it is a song that sings us and tells the homeopath what we need to regain that balance. WHY CHOOSE HOMEOPATHY TODAY? Ok, so two hundred years ago medical science was still pretty basic and there was no penicillin or antibiotics and the concept of hygiene was very vague, so anything would have been better than that! Things have improved a lot since then and we are now much healthier, right? Erm… Actually, not exactly. True, we live longer, dangerous diseases like polio have been eradicated, but I am not sure we are healthier than our ancestors. The west of the world has the highest rate of chronic illnesses on the planet: conditions like asthma, eczema, diabetes and allergies, especially among the young, while most of us have an elderly relative affected by Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s or dementia. The use of antidepressants and antipsychotic drugs is endemic and is causing dangerous dependency issues in more and more people. The answer from conventional medicine is prescribing chemical drugs that suppress the symptoms without getting to the root- cause of the problem; the upshot is that people don’t get better, in fact they often get worse because of the side effects of the treatments. I think Hahnemann would find this scenario very familiar! SO WHY IS HOMEOPATHY WORTH TRYING? • Homeopathic treatment works with your body’s own healing powers to bring about health and wellbeing. • You are treated as an individual, not as a collection of disease labels. • Homeopathy treats all your symptoms at all levels of your being – spiritual, emotional, mental and physical and finds the ‘like cures like’ match for them. • Homoeopathically prepared remedies, providing the minimum dose, are gentle, subtle and powerful. They are non-addictive, and not tested on animals. I am a third-year student of homeopathy at the School of Homeopathy (www.homeopathyschool.com), which is accredited by the British Society of Homeopaths and the Homeopathic Medical Association. Wishing you all good health, Giovanna Franklin 16
