Province appoints Danald Jute as 14 th Bishop of Kuching
Many of you will remember Rev Danald Jute
and his family who joined St Oswald’s from
Milngavie.
He led our worship and cared for the
congregation for a short period of only a
year.
Revd Danald, age 51, was previously the
Vicar of the Good Shepherd Church in
Lutong, in Sarawak. He is also a member of
a number of ministries within the Diocese
and the Province.
Ordained as a Priest in 1993, Revd Danald
received his Diploma in Missiology from the
Australian College of Theology and his Bachelor of Divinity from the
University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
From 2003 to 2009 he served in the diocese of Glasgow in Scotland, in
charge of St Oswald’s.
Revd Danald is married to Julita Jack Sungul and they have 4 children - Izra,
lona, Ian and Ingrid.
Revd Danald said: “I believe that a priest has been called and entrusted by
the Lord to feed, nurture and lead His people, at the same time reaching out
to the lost world with the life changing Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. My
pattern and model of leadership is none other than the Good Shepherd, the
Son of Man, Jesus Christ, who came to serve and not to be served” he said.
Church members
are either pillars or
caterpillars.
The pillars hold up
the church;
the caterpillars just
crawl in and out!
