Homeopathy For Emotional Stress And Trauma
My last workshop on homeopathy was on February the 10 th at St. Oswald’s.
The main idea was to show how homeopathic remedies can help dealing
with life’s challenges, like grief and bereavement but also chronic situations
and even childhood trauma.
I love running workshops: I always come out of it energised and wiser from
what the participants teach me! The format is very interactive: I may decide
the topic of the workshop, but everybody is free to ask questions or share
their experience, so I never know in advance where the conversation is
going to lead and that’s the beauty of it.
The last topic might sound a bit depressing, but I can assure you we laughed
a lot too!
Stress comes in many shapes and forms and everyone reacts differently. It
can be something common like sitting and exam or going for a job interview:
how many people feel physically sick before sitting an exam? It’s a very
common complaint in students. Some students are convinced they are
gravely ill before an exam: I remember sitting on the bus on my way to
university and being convinced I had appendicitis, I had a terrible pain in my
right side, but of course it was just nerves and I was absolutely fine once the
exam was over. The remedy Argentum Nitricum would have fitted me
perfectly.
Other people freeze completely before a job interview and their brain just
goes blank and they cannot even remember their own name! Sounds
familiar? Gelsenium is perfect for such a situation.
Then, of course there are more serious matters. A sudden accident can
cause not just physical damage but shock too. Aconite is a great remedy for
that and has immediate effect. Grief can be greatly alleviated by Ignatia. It is
important to stress that these remedies are not “happy pills” and they will not
“block” the pain you are going through or give you an artificial sense of well-
being.
Homeopathy will help you get your emotional balance back, so you will be in
a better position to deal with whatever life is throwing at you.
I have been asked to run regular workshops in the future, to give more
people a chance to attend, if they cannot attend for that particular session,
so I will try to put something together in the near future.
Watch this space!
