Vestry notes
Vestry Meeting
The meeting on Tuesday 4 September 2018 started with prayer,
remembering those who could not be with us, our congregation and
community.
The minutes of 5 July 2018 had been emailed or posted to Vestry members
in late July. They were agreed and signed off by the Rector who had been in
the chair.
The focus of the meeting was on the content of the Rectors Report.
The report kept all the Vestry members up to date with details that:
➢ The Scouts had cleared all their property from the attic space.
➢ Utility services – matters to do with the meters and the bills.
➢ Essential that St Oswald’s has a Property Convenor.
It was described as a full-time job and whoever takes up the post
requires to have the capacity to fulfil the duties in totality.
➢ Nominations for the Vestry vacancies are required in advance of the
AGM.
➢ Congregational Meeting is planned for Sunday 23 September 2018 to
discuss the future, gather and listen to the views and wishes of the
congregation and people who use the building.
The meeting will follow the Sunday service and Bring and Share Lunch.
It will be led by Rev Ireland.
The Secretary read a letter which had been received from Andrew Dickson
on behalf of the Scouts thanking St Oswald’s for the 33 years of support to
the 94 th Scout Company through the provision of storage.
Some members of the present Vestry indicated they would not be standing
for re-election at the AGM.
The Treasurer circulated the balance sheets and the Secretary gave a
resume of correspondence received since the last meeting.
The meeting ended with prayer.
