The work of Paul for the development of Christianity cannot be overestimated. Not only do the Acts write about it, his letters are a main part of the New Testament, and the Gospel of St Luke follows him, Eusebius wrote that Luke’ s Gospel gave a truthful account of what he had gathered
from the conversation with Paul. But Paul also was a great teacher of Prayer. From his letter to the Thessalonians come a number of requests for prayer, like the significant word:“ Pray continually”( 1 Thess 5,17) which became the centre of Orthodox spirituality.-
St Peter became a figure of stories as the guardian of the door of heaven, St Paul could not be seen as a figure of folk traditions, he would be much too real and relevant today for something like a fairy tale.

There was a preacher who fell in the ocean and he couldn ' t swim. When a boat came by, the captain yelled, " Do you need help, sir?" The preacher calmly said " No, God will save me."

A little later, another boat came by and a fisherman asked, " Hey, do you need help?" The preacher replied again, " No God will save me."
Eventually the preacher drowned & went to heaven. The preacher asked God, " Why didn ' t you save me?" God replied, " Fool, I sent you two boats!"
