Vestry notes
Tuesday 3 July 2018 saw the full vestry meet for their regular monthly
meeting.
The Rev Lesley-ann was amongst us and in full health.
The meeting started with prayer, remembering those who could not be with
us, our congregation and community.
The minutes of 5 June 2018 were agreed and signed off by the Rector’s
Warden, who had been in the chair.
Reports from the Rector, Treasurer and Secretary were delivered, and
apologies received from other office bearers.
The reports kept all the Vestry members up to date with details of:
•
essential property matters that are now completed or those
outstanding, including advising the users of the attic space that it is
necessary to clear this area.
•
Plan that the congregation would be invited to meet in the Autumn
to discuss and share their views, which will be gathered regarding
the future and way forward as we plan for a vacancy after Easter
2019.
•
The balance sheets were previously circulated and backstory to
some of the entries clarified.
•
All correspondence received from the Diocesan office had been
circulated for information to vestry members.
•
Important dates – Saint Oswald’s day 5th August; St Oswald’s
Church dedication in early September; Harvest Sunday in October.
Other topics discussed were regarding:
Recognition of attendance for the children of the Sunday School.
Discussed donation to “Mission” – retiring collection or ringfence sum
Concern regarding the church website - a message stating there is an issue
accessing the website – search for fault.
As this is a holiday period the next Vestry meeting Tuesday 4 September
2018 at 7:30pm or a Sunday Holy Huddle if required.
The meeting ended with prayer.
