Gladys on the GO( Again!) Adventures of Christmas 2017
Once again, my son James and daughter-inlaw Mylene very kindly invited me to join them for a Christmas holiday. This time we went to Bali, Indonesia.
I flew from Glasgow to Dubai and then a few hours later I was off to Bali on 18th December and arrived on 19th December 2017.
Club Med where we stayed for our first week was amazing. They have a 6-hole golf course, Spa, 4 tennis courts, archery, 4 swimming pools, one of which is for adults only and a theatre. The grounds are magnificent and beautifully kept.
Every morning I went to the Yoga class with Mylene. I even did water aerobics. James and Mylene went for tennis lessons. Every night there was entertainment in the theatre. There were lots of different things going on at Club Med every day and you just could not be bored.
One day we walked along the beach to the Bali Art Museum in Sikut Satal Art Market and it was very interesting with beautiful works of Art.
On the 24th December the staff were all dressed up for the Christmas festival.
We went kayaking. I went with James and he did all the work with the paddles. After dinner we went to the Theatre to watch the circus acts. The trapeze artists were truly amazing. On our way back to our rooms we saw a brilliant display of fireworks.
25th December was another beautiful day and Santa arrived by helicopter.
The children gave a great performance in the theatre and praise must go to the staff who had looked after the children and organized the Christmas show with lots of singing.
The next day we were driven out to our next hotel called Purana boutique resort in Ubud. On the way our driver, Auguste, asked if we would like to visit a tea and coffee plantation on the way to our hotel, which we did. Tea and coffee samples were very tasty. The moment we arrived at Purana the staff came out to greet us.
