Arrested Development is back, only on Netflix! Tony Hale confers on the return.
The people's cable
Since they are accessible anywhere there’s internet and are generally free, the growing trend of web series seems here to stay.
Burning Love We had to do a comedy first, especially one of this caliber. A satire on The Bachelor and the like, it does a tremendous job showcasing embarrassing moments and the absurdity of people’s expectations in such an environment. The casting is A-list, the scenes are outrageous and unlike the ‘real’ reality dating shows, we don’t want Yahoo! to ever let this one go. H+ Backed by a well-known producer such as Bryan Singer, YouTube’s H+ brings good ‘ole science fiction to online streaming. In a world where nanotechnology is implanted in humans so they are always connected to the internet, what could possibly go wrong? Um, a lot. Blue Now, before you disregard this pick starring Julia Stiles because of its target audience (women), let us just say...Stiles plays a single mom...escort. The Booth at the End No, it’s not a thriller, but it sure feels like one. Xander Berkely stars as The Man who sits at the booth at the end of a diner as several people come to him to make deals. We still aren’t sure if this man is the devil—but we can’t stop watching this Hulu exclusive. House of Cards Netflix’s first original program is a remake of a BBC mini-series. Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright star in this political drama about a U.S. Representative who will stop at nothing to become promoted. These are just a few shows that created a buzz in the digital world. There are countless others to choose from, all on your demand.
How does it feel now that the 4th season is out and everyone can finally see it? It feels very surreal. [Season 4] is a massive puzzle. People come up to me and say, ‘I love that joke’, and I have no clue what they are talking about. There are so many hidden jokes. Was it difficult to go back and play Buster after so much time away? It became easy when I saw the other cast members…it helped me get into that world again. The anticipation of it made me kind of nervous, but when I got around everybody it was like riding a bike again. Do you think everyone will get back together for a 5th season? I know everybody would definitely be onboard. The most challenging thing is the scheduling. It’s a matter of how it’s going to manifest itself and what medium they use.
Episode VI was unleashed May of 1983. Jedi is my personal favorite of the original franchise. It is definitely the first one I can remember watching over and over until my VHS tape busted. Plus, it introduced us to the Ewoks. Love them or hate them, they are endearing characters that have become a BIG part of pop culture. And who didn't like seeing Leia in a metal bikini? We will forever have this film to thank for all the ‘Slave Leia’ cosplay of today! This year it celebrates its 30th birthday! Jedi was really the first major smack the Star Wars legacy took from
its passionate fans. Supporters of the franchise were less than thrilled about how George Lucas concluded the trilogy. Besides the well-known Ewok hatred, moviegoers took issue with the tone and script. Jedi may not be a perfect film, but it definitely feels like a Star Wars movie due to its large-scale action and aweinspiring moments. The original trilogy of Star Wars is truly a sacred piece of our culture, and while Jedi may not be impeccable, it’s still part of the greatest trilogy ever put on film.
