Coming Events Various activities have progressively resumed in the church, halls and meeting room, or off-site - Holy Cross Wednesday Eucharist and Sunday Worship, Tiny Tutus, Meg’s Toy-box, Friday Fitness Class, Luncheon Group, Fork and Talk. Details are available on the St Margaret’s website’s “What’s Happening” page at https://stmargaretsunitingchurch.wordpress.com/brochure-2/. It still has not been decided when St Margaret’s worship in the church will resume, but when it does it almost certainly will be simultaneously Zoomed for those who can’t attend in person (or are still nervous about doing so). Three events, including two special services, in the church grounds are planned: 12 Noon - 4 PM: Saturday 19 September - Sustainability Festival (including stalls, a concert and a pop-up photo-art exhibition), jointly with Holy Cross. 9.30 AM - Sunday 20 September - joint creation worship service with Holy Cross 9.30 AM - Sunday 18 October - joint worship service with St James and Holy Cross - final service for Rev Chris Lockley who is retiring. Contributions Wanted: All readers are invited to contribute articles about things they have done - photographs taken, jokes heard or made up, poetry written, pictures of drawings or paintings done, prayers written, art or craft made, exciting and positive news received, and whatever else might be appropriate. Likewise, we would love to have material to put on the St Margaret’s Website (or our YouTube channel). If you are clever enough to create and send sound recordings or videos of yourself playing an appropriate piece of music on an instrument, reciting a poem, singing a hymn or some other wonderful song, performing a favourite piece, or whatever, then that would be marvellous. The deadline for material for the next issue is 9 October 2020, with that issue being published on 16 October. Material should be provided to the editor Brian Rope or to Lynda at the church office.
