Remembering

We have all been saddened to learn that one of our past Ministers , Rev . Kerry Bartlett , died suddenly and unexpectedly on 8 October at his home . We remember Kerry as a lovely man who served the St Margaret ’ s congregation faithfully and well during his short ministry with us , just over 2 years .
After leaving St Margaret ’ s , Kerry continued to be very active , and greatly loved and respected , across Canberra Region Presbytery .
For a long time , Kerry was a Chaplain in the Australian Army , and did at least one tour of Afghanistan . After his retirement from active ministry with the Defence Force , Kerry provided supply ministries within the Presbytery and served with his characteristic wisdom and energy as a member of the Pastoral Relations Committee .
During the past year , Kerry has been most active in the work of the Bushfire Response Working Group , visiting communities that were badly impacted by the fires and working with colleagues on two Life and Witness Conversations with Congregations on the South Coast . The photos on these pages show him at St Margaret ’ s and in some of his other roles .
Kerry is survived by his wife , Beth , their children and grandchildren . Please pray for Beth and her family as they grieve for Kerry .
