Apologies

Neil and Margaret Johnston
Thanks for the invitation . Please accept our apologies as other commitments will prevent us getting back to Canberra for 4 February . Our best best wishes to all at St Margaret ' s .

Thank you for the invitation and I had not realized St Margarets and I are so close in age with me celebrating my 59th birthday yesterday ! I have not been back to Canberra for many years now but get regular photos of the beautiful cherry tree planted in remembrance of mum . I ’ m sure she would proud of how her 4 children have flourished as much as the tree . Unfortunately , I am not able to be in Canberra that weekend . I wish the event success and the joy of fellowship across the 60 years .

Colin and I are disappointed we are unable to attend on the 4th as we shall be away . The previous reunion was a great success and we thoroughly enjoyed catching up with old friends . Just a little adjustment you may be interested in I was actually the first pianist to play in the church . I was pianist from 1965 until March 1969 . During this period my father David Lloyd started a church choir also . The other piece of history is the first wedding in the church was a couple not part of the congregation I remember playing the organ . Second wedding Colin and I in March 1969 . Third Barbara and James Makin April 1969 Fourth Robyn and Phillip Laird June 1969 I would assume there should be records at church . I wish you all the best for the day and thank you for all your work .

We thank you for the invitation , however we ’ re unable to attend as Julie is recovering from recent heart surgery in Sydney . Having had open heart surgery myself in 2021 for aortic valve replacement and bypass , we know too well of the lengthy recovery process . We wish you all well for a wonderful day of celebration .
