Bernard is marrying

Many of us remember Bernard Forjoe who sought and received assistance from us when he sought asylum in Australia as a refugee . He simply turned up at the church office and asked Rev Harvey Smith for help . Harvey contacted me and , in turn , I sought advice from Marion Le . Once we knew what to do , we assisted Bernard go through the political and legal hoops and he was , eventually , successful .
He worshipped with us for some time and even taught our joint Advent choir to sing a song from his homeland of Togo - and conducted us performing it in 2008 .
Bernard has lived happily in Canberra since that time , studying , working , teaching young children to play various musical instruments , worshipping with another church more aligned to his church heritage , and involving himself in community activities .
He recently contacted us to say he was getting married in Wagga on 20 March and to invite those who were interested to attend their nuptials dinner celebration in Canberra on 27 March . A few plan to attend the happy occasion .
