The organ recital given by David Franks FTCL at Canberra City Uniting Church on Thursday , 27 May 2021 brought to mind wonderful concerts at the church during the weekly lunchtime recital series we hosted from 1992 to 2007 .
David ’ s recital was part of the monthly lunchtime organ series run by the Royal School of Church Music ( RSCM ) Australia , ACT Branch . As an organist , David holds a Fellowship from Trinity College London ( FTCL ). As one of our regular organists , he is very familiar with our rebuilt George Fincham and Sons Pty Ltd organ originally installed in St Andrew ’ s Presbyterian Church , Goulburn .
David ’ s RSCM concert was attended by over 50 people : other organists including Hildegarde Palafox and Lorraine Macknight , both also regular City Church organists ; a large group who came in two buses from the Goodwin Village in Ainslie ; and City Church members and friends , including David ’ s page-turner Robert Stewart , as well as Dora
