Congratulations Maddie
Maddie Bishop has done it again . This time she is a finalist in the 2021 Olive Cotton Award for photographic portraiture .
The Award is a $ 20,000 biennial national award for excellence in photographic portraiture in memory of photographer Olive Cotton . The exhibition is selected from entrants across Australia and is a significant opportunity for established and emerging photographers . The winning work is acquired for the Gallery ’ s collection . The guest judge for 2021 is photo-media artist Michael Cook .
The works by Maddie and all the other finalists will be on display at Tweed Regional Gallery from 16 July – 19 September 2021 . The opening event and prize announcements will be on 17 July , 5 - 7pm .
Announcing her selection on Instagram , Maddie said “ I may be stuck in Brunswick but this lucky portrait has been shortlisted for the Olive Cotton Award and will be making its way to @ tweedregionalgallery in July . Thankful to be selected amongst such wonderful company and to Gretel , Ineska and Mischa for letting me take their portrait . “
