Luncheon Group Resuming St Margaret’s Luncheon Group usually meets on the first Wednesday of every month except January. This is a social group which, in the past, has had as many as 30 to 40 people attending. All are welcome. A number of the Luncheon Group participants are from other churches or are friends of St Margaret’s members. The social interaction at these luncheons is as important to members as the food partaken and this is truly a group for fun and fellowship. During the COVID-19 restrictions it has, of course, not been possible for Luncheon Group to operate. But that is about to change. A tentative booking for resuming Luncheon Group has been made for Wednesday 5 August 12.30 at Gungahlin Lakes Club. If the idea of participating in this is something you are not sure about please know that Pam and John, and Brian and Robyn, have all attended the Gungahlin Lakes Club for meals recently and were very pleased with the club’s arrangements to make everything safe. They used appropriate procedures at the door (both entering and leaving), when queuing to place orders, and in their seating arrangements in the two parts of the club being used by diners. And there were no patrons other than diners anywhere in the club. Unless COVID-19 rules change this planned luncheon will go ahead but Pam needs definite numbers asap. If you find you cannot make it near the date for some reason they will accept change until Monday 3 August. Please let Pam know NOW if you would like to come. 0409442489. Diary Dates It is too soon to say for certain when worship in the church might resume. However, two special outdoor services in the church grounds are being planned: Sunday 20 September - joint creation worship service with Holy Cross as part of a planned Carbon Action Festival. Sunday 18 October - joint worship service with St James and Holy Cross - final service for Rev Chris Lockley who is retiring. St Margaret’s News 2 July 2020
