Lay Minister Brother
On Sunday 19 December 2021 , a special service was held in St Andrew ’ s Anglican Church Wamboin ( part of the Sutton Road Mission District ) to bid farewell to Len Goodman AO and Joyce Goodman OAM ( residents of Kangara Waters ) for their 36-year association with the combined congregations of St Peter ’ s Sutton and St Andrew ’ s Wamboin and Len ’ s service as a Lay Minister during those years . At the conclusion of the service Len passed on his Lay Minister ’ s Scarf , presenting it and his Robe to my brother Alan , who had been chosen by the congregation to be their new Lay Minister . On Sunday 26 December , Robyn and I were pleased to join the small congregation at St Peter ’ s for the first service at which Alan wore the Robe . It was also the first time we had heard him preach .
