Lockdown pastoral care

We are all currently in lockdown and confined to our homes , unable to go out except for very specific reasons .
It is probably inevitable that some of our congregation , and some of our friends , will find themselves having potentially been exposed to a person who is carrying the COVID-19 virus during this period of lockdown because they , unknowingly , were in the same place as the infectious person .
If any reader becomes aware of anyone else who needs particular support during these times , simply because they live alone , or because they are not good with technology , or they can ’ t get themselves to the shops when they need food , or whatever else , we encourage you to assist those people however you can .
It might be as simple as phoning people every so often to enquire after their wellbeing . It might be offering to shop for them and delivering it to their front doors . Whatever their needs , perhaps you can assist .
If you are not able to provide the needed assistance yourself , think about who else might be able to step up and encourage them to do so .
We are a caring community , so let ’ s all be caring of those who need us now . If prayers are needed for someone , please share that need with us all - initially by letting Robyn Swadling know of the need .
CONTRIBUTIONS WANTED
All readers are invited to contribute articles about things they have done - photographs taken , jokes heard or made up , poetry written , pictures of drawings or paintings done , prayers written , art or craft made , exciting and positive news received , and whatever else might be appropriate .
Likewise , we would love to have material to put on the St Margaret ’ s Website ( or its YouTube channel ). If you are clever enough to create and send sound recordings or videos of yourself playing an appropriate piece of music on an instrument , reciting a poem , singing a hymn or some other wonderful song , performing a favourite piece , or whatever , then that would be marvellous .
The deadline for material for the next issue is 10 September 2021 , with that issue being published on 17 September . Material should be provided to the editor Brian Rope or to Lynda at the church office .
