HSC Recital
On Wednesday 2nd September 2020 from 12.40 to 1.20pm, the Wesley
Lunchtime concert series is pleased to present outstanding HSC music
students from Canberra Grammar School. The varied program includes solo
performances on violin, voice, clarinet, flute, guitar and xylophone.
Canberra Grammar School prepares students for the New South Wales Higher
School Certificate as well as the International Baccalaureate. This year,
seven students are preparing for the HSC and two for the IB Diploma Program.
Today’s concert is an important part of the students’ HSC preparation,
as the exam will be held in the Wesley Music Room on September 18.
Music is a tremendously important part of Canberra Grammar School because
the School recognises that an appreciation of music is a source of enduring
pleasure that will last a lifetime. Instrumental, classroom and co-curricular
music weave together to provide opportunities at all levels of music education
– from solo and ensemble performance through to the study of musical
history, composition and musicology. The School has a wide range of choirs,
orchestras and bands for students, as well as many smaller ensembles for
individual instrumental groups.
