A sound , a memory , a voice in my head There have been times in life I wished I was dead My shell looks healthy , happy and well Deep down I ’ m going through total hell I crack a smile and grit my teeth
“ One of the advantages that art has given me , is the ability to create something for my family ...
There is a certain joy in sending out my artwork to my children , and grandchild , knowing that when they see the artwork , they know in their heart that their father / grandfather is thinking of them .
Indeed , having never painted before coming in to prison , when my brother saw one of my paintings , he
just couldn ’ t believe that I had been able to create such a thing !
I haven ’ t told him yet that during the pandemic I managed to create over 80 pieces of artwork , thanks Flora margarine , you have been a lifesaver !” Mo .
“ For me , in lockdown I just felt down , and it was my artwork that helped me deal with the stress of it all ” John .
